Apple Pear Liqueur

Apple Pear Liqueur

(About 24 Servings)

This apple pear liqueur is a celebration of fall. It’s finally cooling off and our lives begin to turn indoors. The flavors of apple, pear, and pumpkin begin to pop up everywhere. This infused liqueur highlights the flavor of superb fall fruit with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. This liqueur makes a great holiday drink or a wonderful gift when packaged up in a pretty bottle. It is delicious to sip all on its own, but also makes a lovely cocktail mixed with seltzer, dry white wine, or Prosecco. Cheers to a cozy fall season.

You Will Need:

  • 1 750 ml bottle vodka
  • 1 granny smith apple
  • 1 Honeycrisp or Jonagold apple
  • 1 D’Anjou pear
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ whole nutmeg

Instructions:

  • Wash and slice the apples and pear. Place in a large jar or covered pitcher.
  • Pour the vodka over the top and make sure the fruit slices are submerged.
  • Set aside and allow to infuse for 10-14 days. Swishing it around at least once a day.
  • Strain using a fine mesh strainer and discard the fruit.
  • In a small saucepan, put the water sugar, cinnamon sticks and nutmeg over medium high heat. Bring to a boil, then allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove sugar syrup from heat and let cool completely. Remove the cinnamon stick and nutmeg.
  • Mix the infused alcohol and sugar syrup together and pour into glass bottles. I like these with stoppers (paid link). Store in the fridge.
  • Serve in cordial glasses as an apéritif or mix in cocktails.
