(12 Servings)
I came up with this recipe after going to Costco during the holidays and buying giant bags of nuts to bake with. Of course, I bought WAY more than I needed and was looking for ways to use my abundance of almonds and have been making them ever since. These almonds make a healthy snack with a little bit of sweetness to satisfy the 3:00 pm munchies. You can also make this with a mixture of nuts instead of just almonds. If you like things spicy, add the cayenne, it gives a slight kick. They are a good accompaniment on a cheese board and make a nice holiday hostess gift – just place them in a cute box or jar.
You Will Need:
- 3 cups raw almonds
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Put all ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir to combine. The nuts should be completely coated.
- Spread almonds out on the sheet pan in an even layer.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, tossing twice, until fragrant and lightly toasted.
- Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
